What you
should know
Before you
choose a repair facility
Check the reputation of the Body Shop which you are
considering. Collision repair varies greatly depending
on the emphasis
placed on Quality. Brown has State of the Art
Equipment and more importantly ASE and I-CAR
certified technicians. Make sure you compare a shops
credentials as well as examples of their work.
It's you're Choice!
You don't have to go to the Repair Shop the Insurance
Company chooses. It's you're Vehicle! Today's
vehicles are very precise. Make sure the shop of your
choice has the proper equipment to restore your vehicle
to pre-accident condition! Brown Body & Paint Centre
utilizes Car-o-liner and Chief E-Z Liner Frame Racks to
restore your vehicle back to Factory Specifications. We
follow only I-CAR and Factory guidelines for unibody
and frame repair. The welding process is completed
utilizing MIG or resistance pinch welders which exactly
replicate the factories welding process. After the body
is restored the preparation on your vehicle starts on our
Devilbiss Pro-prep Stations. It is then refinished and
baked in our Devilbiss Concept-Cure Paint Booths.
Final detailing and an inspection is performed before
The vehicle is made available to you for pick up.
How do repairs begin?
By law you are only required to get one estimate! You
can utilize your insurance Companies direct repair shop if
you are satisfied that the shop will act in your best interest,
but always keep in mind It's your choice! It's your vehicle!
Despite what some insurers say, warranties are always
provided by the shop performing the repairs not the
insurance company paying for the claim. At Brown
Body & Paint Centre we provide a lifetime warranty
despite any direct repair agreement we may honor and we
promise always to keep your best interest in mind. We
work for you, not any insurance companies.
Brown Body & Paint Centre utilizes all three Major
Computer Estimating Systems to make sure we list and
perform all the necessary operations to restore your
vehicle to pre-accident condition. If repair facilities
don't charge for or have insurance agreements that
prohibit them from charging for items, then critical items
or operations may not be performed on you vehicle. If you
are comparing estimates make sure that all individual items
are listed separately, if the items are omitted from a shops
estimate then chances are that operation won't be performed.
These operations often will be items you won't see but are
critical to the performance and warranty on your vehicle.
Our estimating systems allow us to list every individual item
separately so you know exactly what repairs you are
receiving. Brown Body & Paint Centre direct repair
agreements do not compromise any repair processes. Our
agreements with insurers are based on Quality, Safety and
Timeliness only. Discounts can conflict with quality repairs.
What parts will be used in my repair?
In most cases Brown Body & Paint Centre will utilize Original
Equipment
Manufacturers Parts or commonly know as OEM
the choice of parts type is always the customers per
ORC 1345-81. On many occasions an insurance company will
prepare an estimate utilizing after-market parts. You do not
have to accept this in a 3rd party claim because you have no
contractual agreement with that insurance company, however
in a 1st party claim you may have a contractual agreement and
your own policy will require you to accept after market parts.
If you wish you can always pay the difference in price to get
OEM parts. You should read your policy to make sure your
insurance policy doesn't have language stating the insurer can
demand the use of these parts. If you're not happy with that fact
review your policy with your Agent or change your insurance
company if your Agent doesn't accommodate your needs.
Remember you are the consumer! Consumers have rights! You
are protected by the
laws of the State of
Unfair Property/casualty Claims Settlement Practices is the section
of law governing claims you can refer to if you have questions.
Used parts are allowed by the State Law and can be used
to repair collision damage, providing the parts are of like kind and
quality the term LKQ will be written on the estimate signifying
the use of these parts If these parts are to be utilized, we will make
sure they are of sound quality before we install them on your
vehicle. Our goal is to provide an invisible repair OEM and
quality LKQ parts help us do this faster.
How long does it take for a repair?
It is our intention to fix your vehicle properly and promptly
to your complete satisfaction. The difficult nature of collision
repairs will sometimes cause delays. We will try to determine
as much damage up front to minimize down time waiting on
parts, adjusters or equipment. Repair time is calculated on visible
damage at the time of the initial estimate, if additional damage is
found this will of course increase the length of repair time. Please
keep in mind that it does take time to perform Quality repairs.
We will not compromise safety or quality for timeliness!
